Foods to Eat to Avoid Acne




<p>It is quite hard to get rid of acne especially if you are past the adolescent stage and if your skin has the predisposition in developing acne. Though there are skin care products that you may use, the best way to deal with acne is to have a lifestyle modification and healthy diet.</p>





Lifestyle modification means avoiding cigarettes and alcohol as recent studies show that smoking and alcohol can cause severe acne breakouts, skin discoloration and skin aging. It is also recommended that people with acne should sleep at least 7-8 hours of sleep because staying late can further hurt your skin.



In terms of food, there are foods that you should include in your diet. These foods may help you avoid growth of acne and acne breakouts.  Some foods to avoid acne may include:

             Green Tea
Green tea is rich with anti bacterial properties that can kill bacteria, which causes acne. It can reduce swelling, redness and it can prevent future growth of acne.

            Low fat dairy products
Our skin needs a healthy dose of vitamin A and imbalance of vitamin A can cause acne. One way to avoid acne is to load your diet with low fat dairy products. Sample of low fat  dairy products are low fat milk and low fat cheese.

            Foods rich with Selenium
Dietary selenium plays a major role in making the skin look healthy and vibrant. Eating  whole wheat bread, Brazil nuts and cereals can promote good skin.

            Foods rich with zinc
Zinc rich foods can avoid severe acne breakouts. Include lean meat and skinless chicken to your diet to avoid unsightly acne.

             Water
Drinking water is very important to skin cells. Water rejuvenates and revives skin cells making the skin looking vibrant and healthy. Drink 8-12 glasses of water daily will do wonders for your skin. Water should no be substituted with soup and soda drinks because water is needed by the skin not carbonated drinks.

Severe acne breakouts may require medical attention. Ask your dermatologist for skin procedures regarding your skin condition.
