5 Natural Remedies for Dark Circles under the Eyes



Dark circles under the eyes are one common problem among women. According to studies,
70 - 80 % of people are suffering from dark circles under the eyes. Majority of them suffer some mild dark circles but there some whose dark circle are permanent fixture under the eyes.

There are some beliefs why there are unsightly dark circles but real reasons for dark circles under the eyes may include:
  •        Not having enough sleep
  •          Skipping meals
  •          Lack of proper nutrients
  •          Too much sun exposure
  •          Hereditary reasons

These dark circles can be treated nowadays but before you start any treatment, you have to make sure that it is natural and safe to avoid any problems with your eyes. Some of the natural remedies for dark circles under the eyes may include:

1. Cucumber
After washing your face, you may cut thin slices of cucumber and let them chill in the fridge. After chilling, you may put the cucumber slices over your closed eyes. Try to relax for 15 to 20 minutes while the cucumber slices is over your eyes.

2. Ice Cubes
Ice cubes is recommended to lighten the dark circles. This is effective especially if the cause too much exposure to the sun. Place one small ice cube over your close eyes and leave them for a couple of minutes.

3. Eat almonds
Eating almonds is recommended because it is considered as a great skin food. It is good for the skin and may lighten any dark spots found in the skin and under the eyes.

4. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water
Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water may keep your skin well hydrated. It will also remove the impurities like dark circles.

5. Sleep well
Lack of sleep is one major reason for dark circles. Having 8 hours of sleep will surely lessen the unsightly dark circles. So avoid going out late, try to relax and sleep well since having a good sleep is good for your eyes as well as the skin. 

Natural remedies are recommended to protect the eyes as you try to lighten the dark circles. However, if the dark circles keep affecting your appearance, you may consider using an eye concealer to totally hide the dark circles.
