Foods can help to Prevent Varicose Veins




Varicose veins normally start as we get older. This could be a signal of poor circulation of blood inside our body. Aside from the things we could do to prevent from developing varicose veins or to prevent from having more, there are also foods that can help us to prevent from having it. These foods may not only help us to prevent varicose veins but also may help to ease any pain caused by varicose veins.

The following are the foods that can help to reduce the formation of varicose veins.

Eat foods rich in fiber.

Foods rich in high fiber stay away from straining the stool that can add up pressure and make the varicose veins worse. Make sure to include high-fiber foods in your diet everyday. The advisable amount of fiber for each day is 20 grams. Intake of foods rich in fiber may not only help to lessen the risk of getting varicose veins but also may give great health benefit to us. Foods rich in fiber are whole grains, peas, figs, raisins, legumes and prunes.

Eat foods rich in flavonoid.

Flavonoids are powerful antioxidant that helps to reduce free harmful radicals that can make the walls of blood vessels weaker. This can help to reduce the possibility of developing varicose veins. Foods that are rich in flavonoids are broccoli, onion, carrots, grapefruit, tomatoes, blueberries and soybeans.

Eat foods rich in vitamin C.

Vitamin C with the presence of flavonoid and vitamin E may help to strengthen the walls of the arteries, veins and capillaries preventing the poor circulation of the blood. Some of the foods rich in vitamin C are the guavas, bell peppers and dark green leafy vegetables.

Eat foods rich in vitamin E.

Vitamin E may improve the blood circulation and strengthen the walls and vessels that characterize varicose veins. Foods rich in vitamin E are avocados, brazil nuts, sunflower seeds, almonds, peanuts and mangoes.

Eat garlic, onion and ginger.

Intake more amounts of these foods may help to disrupt the protein responsible in blood clotting leading in the formation of varicose veins which is the fibrin. Try to include garlic, onion and ginger in your daily diet to obtain the full health benefit of it.
